Have a good look at this photograph. Who can guess where it is taken? It is an old shot? Any ideas? The clue: not too far from Sheffield……..

   I’m going to guess that this shot is of our now Sheffield Waste Transfer Station? Gosh I hope I haven’t offended anyone!

   I’d say its just east Luttrells Bridge over Forth River.
   Forth Falls just upstream.

   Well done Richard. The road to Wilmot in the old days. Now underwater. Did you ever travel this road?

   yes many a time.
   Forth Falls was a much visited place as was Wilmot.
   Times long gone!

   Do you think a bridge across Lake Barrington would be well used?

   A bridge would be so well used by visitors that it would endanger the viability of some tourism attractions and accommodation along the C140 and C141 roads to Cradle Mountain, but would be a boon for Wilmot.

   Although an impossibility, the restoration of the Forth Falls would be a much larger attraction than Lake Barrington (disregarding the monies left by rowers of course).

   A vehicular ferry would not be as intrusive, but would require manning. Could be an option in summer months?
